Feeling uncertain about your relationship? When it comes to relationships, I believe your gut serves as your guide. That very first thought that you get is usually pure. It’s not flowered with perspectives from your friends or other sources of information. Communication will help you to bring clarity to uncertainty. To reach solutions, you have to be able to establish a connection and communicate with your partner about your concerns and needs. Think about it this way, you must have a connection in order to communicate via cell phone or internet.
How do you connect? Connection starts with listening and being understanding. In order to understand another person, you have to LISTEN to them. Empathic Listening is considered to be the highest form of listening. If you’re doing all the talking, where is the room for you to listen and understand what is going on in the person’s world. Peace Activist Thich Nhat Hanh believes “deep listening is the kind of listening that can help relieve the suffering of another person.”
The feeling of uncertainty within a relationship is powerful; at minimum, it serves as information for you. Uncertainty prompts us to stop, think and dig a little deeper for answers or a better choice. Listening provides answers. Listening helps you to formulate the right questions that help you to get the answers you need. Clear answers eliminate uncertainty.
