Love wins! Recent events have many people feeling frustrated and angry. The problems have been identified. The solution involves each of us making sure our actions are created in love. Love starts in the home, regardless of race and gender. Hate is learned. If we can learn to hate, we can learn to love. We have to get it right in our homes first by teaching and showing our children that love is “Patient, kind, not rude, not easily angered and it does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth.” When our children need our attention, we should give it to them; show up to their PTA (Parent Teacher Association) meetings; correct their inappropriate behaviors with a stern voice instead of yelling, blaming and shaming.
We are human beings before any label of gender and race is attached. Every day we wake up with a heartbeat, we have to make a decision to operate in excellence. When we don’t operate in excellence, somebody gets short changed. Being short changed does not feel like love; it creates an atmosphere of mediocrity. Mediocrity is not good enough. One of the immediate choices we have at our fingertips is to identify our elected officials and track their voting history on issues. If you agree or disagree with something, write to the politicians and express your concerns.
There will be times when you love others and they will make the choice not to love you back. They will use their actions and tongue to demonstrate their lack of love. However, when we maintain a great relationship with our heart, we will always be able to move forward in intentional love. Intentional love wins and will always serve the interest of all things created.
